Got worms?

No, no, no! Maya does not have worms. Not to worry. And we are not feeding her worms either. How awful of you to think that. That's not what I am saying at all so get your mind out of the dirt. But we do have new neighbors - a couple of bluebirds. Here is the link to the visual proof http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lnp14jnRflo. We have had the house waiting for them for a few years but only this year we got them to actually move in. And it was not easy either. First we saw a lonely male sit on top of the house and call for his female. I am not sure if at this point she was "his" female or "a female" but he was calling for her. Then, one lady came by, but she would not go inside the house to check it out - you, ladies, know what can happen if you come in for a cup of coffee (or some regurgitated insects in this case). So she was reluctant. And he was all "Yo, check my crib, hot mama" although in bluebirdish it does not sound so aggressive. So we decided that he needs some help. But instead of calling Mr. Hitch, we decided to do the work ourselves. So we thought what can make the neighborhood more attractive? A gourmet restaurant near by would do the trick for us and so we got them some meal worms. Yam! It took a while for them to find the worms, since every time we would put them out the titmice would eat them before our love team, but then we just started throwing them out of the window onto a slab of concrete. And they found them and are even waiting for them in the morning which is pretty funny: they sit above the aforementioned concrete and look down at it as if the worms are just going to crawl from inside the concrete, but instead they fall from the sky, just like manna. And no, that does not make us bluebird gods.

easy riding

My left foot

It has been a little while again since our last post, and since then Maya has found her feet!! Well, first she just found her left foot. She went almost a week before she found the right one. But the left one is just more fun to hold, somehow.
